The county seat of Warren County, Queensbury, New York, is a town of roughly 28,000 residents located on the shore of picturesque Lake George and the Hudson River not far from the base of the Adirondack Mountains. The town is named after Queen Charlotte, the royal consort of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland.

The area was first settled by Quakers, but they moved away during the Revolutionary War and returned when the conflict was over. Since that time, the borders of the town have both expanded and contracted as neighboring communities were annexed or seceded.
