North American Van Lines: The Best of Erie Moving Companies
Located along Lake Erie (hence the name) in the Great Lakes region, the city of Erie is a classic Midwestern town with lots of excellent recreation, a positive community spirit and a focus on economic development. Erie enjoys a climate that experiences all four seasons, and the city is large enough to have big-city amenities but still maintains classic small-town charm.
According to a 2012 U.S. Census estimate, there are more than 101,000 residents living in Erie. City-Data statistics also revealed that Erie is quite an affordable place to call home, as the city's cost of living index is less than the U.S. average. One of the biggest employers in the city is a division of General Electric, and Erie has a longstanding manufacturing tradition. However, the economy has become increasingly diverse through the past few decades.
Activities and Attractions in Erie
No doubt one of the best attributes of Erie is the city's location near one of the Great Lakes. One of the most scenic ways to explore the coastline here is to spend a day at Presque Isle State Park. The beaches here are safe to roam through from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but there are plenty of things to do here year round. At the park you can experience hiking and biking along the lake in the fall and even snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter.
The Erie Zoo is another great attraction and a must-see if you are relocating with kids. No only are there almost 400 animals who call this zoo home, but there are also 11 gardens located on the grounds to wander through during your visit. Although the zoo is only open from March to November, it is still a wonderful part of the city.

Interstates 79 and 90 are both located near Erie, as are U.S. Highways 20 and 19, so there are several ways to find your way around town with an Erie moving company. However, if you would rather opt for North American Van Line's vehicle transportation service, you can fly into Erie International Airport, which operates flights just 6 miles from the city center. There are other great amenities you can enjoy from northAmerican to make your relocation even easier, including disassembly and assembly assistance with electronic and appliances, unpacking and clean-up services and box and furniture inventory, among others.
