Rainbow Movers of Massachusetts Helps American Legion Post Get Donations to Kentucky Tornado Victims.
When Rhode Island American Legion Post #88 was looking for a company to transport donations they’d received for the victims of the horrendous tornadoes that hit Kentucky in December, Rainbow Movers of Massachusetts answered the call. Despite the busy holiday season, and moving volume being at an all time high, Rainbow worked with northAmerican leadership to secure transport for the much needed supplies that included items like generators and chain saws, to work gloves and first aid kits. Donations were collected from throughout the Rhode Island area.
The American Legion Members worked throughout the weekend of December 18 so everything would be packed and skidded for shipment when the truck arrived on Monday. After loading up, the truck was given an escort by the local police and fire department (https://www.facebook.com/ray.trinque/videos/289665146507860/). The donations were delivered to American Legion Post 23 in Bowling Green, Kentucky for distribution to veterans in need the Monday after Christmas.
Said Erin McEnaney of Rainbow Movers, “it was so humbling to be part of this and see such an outpouring of support from the community.”
The Rhode Island American Legion Post is already working on its next donation. They’ve set up a Go Fund Me page, Veterans Needing Helping Hand in Kentucky. News coverage about the donations is available here:
